Simple Propagation is Gülsüm Kavuncu’s response to the 1958 book Simple Propagation: A Book of Instructions for Propagation by Seed, Division, Layering, Cuttings, Budding, and Grafting written and illustrated by Noël J. Prockter, and published by W H L Collingridge (NY). Kavuncu embodies propagation as a practice, exploring concepts of authorship and originality, or as the book refers to it, “the parent plant” by combining images from her own experiments in propagation with images from the original publication.
